Students taking regular fulltime courses at Drummers Collective can now apply to have their credits transferred
to most other 2 or 4-year colleges. For details contact John Castellano at johnc@thecoll.com
The Collective will be running two special kids summer camps from
July 13-17 and August 24-28 at The Players Theatre at 115 MacDougal Street. The camps will consist of small classes (max 5
students) focusing on technique, sight reading, and performance skills, and will culminate with a special student recital.
Classes will begin daily at 9am and end at 3pm each day, except for Friday, which will end at 5pm – after the student
recital. The curriculum includes: instrumental technique, sight reading, and performance skills.
The cost for tuition
and materials is $595. Enrollment is open to kids from 9-17 with a minimum skill level. Levels are determined as part of the

The Collective proudly congratulates faculty members Irio O'Farrill and Vince Cherico
for winning 2009 Grammy Awards! Irio, a current and original member of the Broadway show, In The Heights, recorded and
performed on the album, "In the Heights" (Original Broadway Cast Recording). The album, released in June of 2008
on Ghostlight Records, won a Grammy for Best Musical Show Album with credit going to the Producers, Lyricists, and Composers.
We congratulate Irio on this fine achievement! Vince, a member of the Arturo O'Farrill
Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra, recorded and performed on the Arturo O'Farrill
& The Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra album, "Song for Chico". The album, released in April of 2008 on Zoho Music,

NEW AT THE COLLECTIVE FOR 2009! The Collective Personal Improvement Classes for Musicians These courses are available to
any musician who wishes to hone his/her skills in a particular area of performance, or music production, or wants to be able
to better understand how to promote and market themselves. Classes are small in size, with a maximum of four students per

Extension Division Evening Courses The Collective extension division offers regular Collective
fulltime courses for drums, bass, guitar, and keyboard on week-day evenings from 6-10pm. Current program offerings include
a 2-semester, 18-week, Prep Program for less experienced players, and the Collective benchmark 4-semester, 36-week, Certificate
Program for intermediate to advance level players. Classes are held on either a Monday & Wednesday, or Tuesday & Thursday
schedule from 6-10pm.
